Fourth cohort for NRHA Rural Hospital CNO Certification Program Launches

 [Kansas City, Mo.] – The National Rural Health Association’s (NRHA) Rural Hospital CNO Certification Program launched its fourth cohort in September 2022.

 Leadership makes the difference. Today’s rural hospitals and clinics face tremendous challenges and uncertainty and are closing at an unprecedented rate. One in every three rural hospitals has been identified as “at risk.” According to NRHA CEO Alan Morgan, “Leadership is the biggest predicter of rural hospital success.”

The September 2022 cohort consists of the following participants:

  • Ashley Stolicker – Deckerville Community Hospital, Deckerville, MI
  • Brad Simons – Eaton Rapids Medical Center, Eaton Rapids, MI
  • Candice Smith – Hereford Regional Medical Center, Hereford, TX
  • Darcy Donnelly – Aspirus, Laurium, MI
  • Hilary Kile – Weiser Memorial Hospital, Weiser, ID
  • Jenni Word – Wallowa Memorial Hospital, Enterprise, OR
  • Jody Gillum – Clay County Hospital, Flora, IL
  • Krista Eylar – Holton Community Hospital, Holton, KS
  • Kristen Upchurch – McCamey County Hospital, McCamey, TX
  • Lisa Ambuehl – Salem Township Hospital, Salem, IL
  • Lori Seim – First Care Health Center, Park River, ND
  • Mary Mushala – EMHS, Montrose, PA
  • Melissa Bowers – Seiling Municipal Hospital, Seiling, OK

 About NRHA’s Rural Hospital CNO Certification Program: NRHA’s Rural Hospital CNO Certification Program was developed by successful rural hospital CNOs for rural hospital CNOs to help them strengthen their leadership skills and lead their hospital to success. An individual with this certification will immediately be recognized as someone qualified to be a nurse leader in a rural hospital with excellence.
